“ePosting” FAQ


  1. What is “ePosting”?

    “ePosting” is an automated self-service mail posting facility, which provides 24/7 mail posting and postage inquiry services for the public.

     

  1. What kind of mail items can be posted by "ePosting”?

    Applicable to the following mail types:

    • EMS (weight limit 20 kg or below)
    • Registered Mail (weight limit 2 kg or below)
    • Ordinary Mail (weight limit 2 kg or below)

     

  1. Is there any size limit for posting mail items by “ePosting”?

    The size limit is 300 mm (length) x 300 mm (width) x 100 mm (height).

     

  1. How to post the oversized items that exceed the size limit of "ePosting”?

    Please have it posted at our post office counters during office hours.

     

  1. Is customs declaration required for posting mail items by "ePosting”?

    Posting mail items by "ePosting” must follow the customs declaration procedures in accordance with current regulations.

     

  1. How to submit customs declaration for mail items posted by “ePosting”?

    If the mail item needs to be declared at customs, the sender can submit the customs declaration information in advance in official language of the destination or in English via CTT website (https://cds.ctt.gov.mo/cds) or mobile application, including names and addresses of the recipient and the sender, item category, quantity, value and weight etc. A QR code will be generated after completion of the declaration. When posting the item, scan the QR code to declare; or the sender can also enter the customs declaration information directly at “ePosting”.  Please be noted that the declared information must reflect the actual contents of the mail item.

     

  1. Will the mail item posted by “ePosting” be opened for inspection?

    Since there is no inspection by CTT staff during the posting process of “ePosting", therefore, CTT will conduct a scan on the mail item in order to check whether it complies with the legal and regulatory provisions. If it is found that the item may be in violation of the regulations, the sender will be notified by CTT staff and be required to open the postal item or undertake a review, in his presence, without infringing the postal item.

     

  1. Are there any prohibitions on mail items?

    For items that must not be mailed, please refer to Prohibited and Restricted Articles. Due to the differences in the laws and regulations on incoming goods and taxation system implemented by the post or customs of destination, the sender shall ensure that the postal items are comply with legal stipulations including the local regulations established in all the competent authorities in the Macao Special Administrative Region, in the countries or regions of transit and destination countries. Otherwise, the mail item may be returned or confiscated.

     

  1. What are the consequences for false declaration?

    The declared information must be valid and reflect actual contents of the mail item. Provision of false or misleading information may lead to detention, seizure, delay in delivery, or return to the sender. In addition, according to Executive Order no. 62/2005, Part I, No. 2.7, is liable to a fine of minimum MOP500 and maximum MOP1,000, and the postage and fees paid will not be refunded.

     

  1. When is the Latest Time of Posting for “ePosting” service? Will the mail item be processed on the same day of posting?

    If the mail item is posted before the Latest Time of Posting of “ePosting" service, the mail item will be processed on the same day. Please click here for the Latest Time of Posting of “ePosting" service.

     

  1. Do I have to pack my mail item for posting?

    To post mail item using “ePosting", the sender must prepare the packing materials and pack the mail item, and make sure that the mail item is sealed properly. CTT is not responsible for any damage caused by packing. In addition, it is recommended not to use packaging materials with promotional contents (with the exception of packaging purchased from or provided by CTT).

     

  1. What should I do if the postage label is damaged or the font is blurred?

    The use of damaged or illegible labels is prohibited. If the damaged or illegible postage label is caused by the mechanical failure of “ePosting" kiosk, the sender can keep the above postage label and go to the post office to exchange for equivalent postage. If the postage label is damaged due to the sender, the label will be considered used and the postage will not be redeemed.
